Assembly Operator I Summary

Independently, punches parts according to blueprint and router.

Specific Job Functions

·         Conducts basic set-up processes using fixtures and/or tooling with assistance.

·         Accurately and completely fills in routers. 

·         Communicates with co-workers and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.

·         Cleans machines and work area to maintain a clean work environment.

·         Basic comprehension of blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, and specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece.

·         Measures dimensions and reference points on material or work piece by using a snap gage, micrometer, or height gage.

·         Turns pressure control knobs, handles, and levers to adjust machines.

·         Displays ability to handle tooling and presses.

·         Inspects finished part to identify wrinkles, over cured, strings, and other flaws.

·         Inspects all RTV’s adhesives, glues, or coatings to verify that contents are sufficient to complete job and that all components have MT lot number.

·         Verifies quantity and count.

·         Records Part Number, MFG Code, and Lot numbers as required by router.

·         Assembles components as required by router. Inspects each part detail 100%. Notifies supervisor if detail is not to blueprint.

·         Inspects all furnished part details for visual damage. Inspects assembled components as noted on blueprint and router.

·         Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions. Sets pressures according to router.

·         Conducts basic set-up processes using fixtures and/or tooling.

·         Inspects and measures parts to maintain statistical process control charts.

·         Displays ability to handle tooling and presses.

·         Inspects finished part to identify wrinkles, over cured, strings, and other flaws if required.

·         Verifies that shelf life has not been exceeded prior to use. Notifies supervisor for disposition of outdated products.
