Press Operator Trainee Summary
Operates compression molding machines to mold rubber products/Kapton/Preforms according to router and blueprint with assistance of lead or trainer. In all actions support MTI's Quality Policy, Mission Statement and other MTI policies and procedures by supporting our commitment to total customer satisfaction, quality products and services, lean processes, continuous improvement, on-time delivery, safety, teaming, individual accountability and respect for people.
Training and Experience Requirements
0 – 1 year experience in Rubber Press Operation.
Specific Job Functions
Adheres to all Rubber department guidelines and quality requirements.
Conducts basic set-up processes using fixtures and/or tooling with assistance.
Knowledgeable of basic machine controls and operation in order to keep on-going production.
Responsible for reporting cycle time and part count.
Starts and observes machine operation to detect malfunctions. Sets pressures/time/temperature according to router.
Presses button or pulls lever to activate machines to compress compounds between molds to form and cure specified products.
Removes cured products from mold using hand tools and air hoses.
Accurately and completely fills in routers, operator inspection process sheets, set-up sheets and any other required documentation.
Communicates with lead and supervisor to receive instructions and coordinate activities.
Cleans machines and work area to maintain a clean work environment.
